Description

This is no activity where you simply watch from the sidelines. You first learn the basics of ice sculpting, watch a professional demonstration and then get to work with the tools yourself.

Teams of 2 to 4 people receive a block of ice, ice forks and chisels. A theme is given, and it is up to you to turn the block into a sculpture using creativity and skill.

Throughout the activity, Nicolas, an expert in the discipline, shares his techniques and guides the teams. Everyone brings ideas and skills to the table to shape the final creation together.

Then comes the moment of judgement. Once time is up, the sculptures are assessed by the Takamaka team and Nicolas. And because audience support counts too, the applause meter also plays a part in choosing the winning sculpture.
