Description

Building an igloo sounds simple… until you have to do it as a team, in the snow and against the clock! This is no solo project. To make progress, you will need to share the tasks and find the best way to work together.

With your snow shovels, buckets and trowels, you shape the blocks that will form your igloo. Throughout the activity, a mountain leader guides you and shares practical advice to help your team move forward efficiently.

Then it’s over to you! Some team members dig and shape the blocks while others put them together. Little by little, the walls take shape and your igloo starts to appear. You will need to communicate, organise yourselves and keep up the pace to finish within the allotted time.

The result? A structure you can be proud of, but above all, a great moment shared as a team. This mountain team building activity naturally brings teamwork, cooperation and team spirit into play.

The activity depends on snow conditions and snow quality at the time of your event.

Good to know

This activity takes place in the mountains, so it depends on snow conditions and snow quality at the time of your event. You do not need to bring your own equipment: snow shovels, buckets and trowels are used to build the igloo.
A mountain leader accompanies your team throughout the challenge, providing guidance and practical advice. If you would like to extend the experience with a convivial meal, the challenge can also be combined with a “totalement fondue” lunch, available for groups of up to 40 people.

How the activity works

1

Briefing

The activity starts with a briefing from the mountain leader. You discover the challenge and receive practical advice to help you build your igloo.
2

Get equipped

Snow shovels, buckets and trowels at the ready! Each team gets organised and starts shaping its snow blocks.
3

Start building!

Now it’s time to put your teamwork to the test. Digging, shaping, carrying and assembling the blocks all require good organisation. Everyone has a role to play as the igloo gradually takes shape.
4

The clock is ticking

There is no time to waste! Your team must work together to complete the construction within the allotted time. Communication and cooperation are key.
5

Your igloo is ready!

The final blocks are in place. Your construction takes shape and you can see the result of your collective effort. A great way to finish the challenge surrounded by snow and shared team memories.
